Fake Nails - Fun But Not Always Appropriate
Fake nails are a lot of fun. However, they’re not always appropriate for your day-to-day life. There are some situations where we shouldn’t wear fake nails. It’s important to know when to keep them at home and when it’s okay to splash out and rock some great-looking fake nails.
Knowing how to call it right could mean the difference between a fashion faux pas and a carefully constructed outfit, so we’re here to help. With our top tips for when fake nails are viable and when they’re not, you’ll be accessorising with the best of them, so check it out.
The Gym and Other Physical Activities-That’s a No
Unfortunately, despite how much you might want to look like a fashion icon (we’ve all been there), you’ll want to keep the nails to a minimum if you’re going to the gym, working in the garden or helping someone move house.
Fashion isn’t always first in life, and fake nails have a tendency to break if you put them through too much punishment. They’re tough little things - especially our fake nails - but the truth is that they’re not indestructible. If you spend your day lifting boxes and trying to make a sofa fit into a corner, you’ll snap them and maybe even injure yourself in the process.
Funerals - Maybe Not, Largely Circumstantial
Funerals are a tricky social situation to navigate because we understand fully the need to look and feel good when you’re in public. However, your comfort usually takes a backseat to the commemoration of someone’s life, so balancing aesthetics with what’s appropriate is tricky.
We largely recommend ditching them and keeping your outfit plain and simple. If you absolutely need fake nails, black ones are probably best, but at the same time, you don’t want to draw attention to yourself.
All The Time, Everyday, 24/7
To the surprise of nobody who has used fake nails for more than a day or two, we don’t actually recommend having fake nails 24/7. There are a lot of times when fake nails shine, and look fantastic, but there are also moments when you should just not use them and let your nails breathe for five minutes. Practising good nail care is vital for having a successful future foundation for our fake ones, you know.
Final Thoughts
So, these are just a couple of examples where you’ll need to be careful with fake nails because they aren’t always acceptable for whatever reason. We have a good selection of fake nails, and we’d love to see you strutting the streets in them, but at the end of the day, common sense has to win out. If you’re in a sensitive social setting or just taking a day to breathe and relax, fake nails can be left at home. There are plenty of other chances to wear them at work or parties, so there’s no need to go overboard.
