Are Fake Nails Suitable for Young People?

When we think about fake nails, we often have to ask ourselves if they’re suitable for young people. It’s a question we face a lot, be it from concerned parents or teachers. We understand wanting to make sure your kids get the best results, which is why we’re going to talk a little bit about it and what you need to know. After all, as experts on fake nails, we can help answer any questions you’ll have about them and how they can help people.

Should Fake Nails Be Allowed in School?

Understandably, young people will want to try and look their best in school. It’s perfectly normal to want to try and look your best, especially at that age - high school is a pretty judgemental place, and lots of people struggle with feelings of low self-esteem.

However, even with that in mind, we can’t recommend using fake nails in school. At the end of the day, it just isn’t sensible, and the likelihood of the nails getting in the way of learning is pretty high. If you’re constantly worrying about your nails or they’re stopping you from writing properly, you’re in a bad place to learn.

Fake Nails Outside School

When it comes to fake nails outside of school, it’s a different story, and we have slightly different views on the matter. The thing that you need to consider is that when it’s not in an educational setting if they’re good nails applied with adult supervision, there’s no harm in doing it.

The adolescent drive to be socially accepted is pretty high, and you can’t parent it out of a child. Instead, parents should help their kids to explore things in a controlled fashion. Good quality fake nails are going to be more affordable than a full salon day, and they help kids to be able to work out if they like their nails as they are or whether they do want to experiment further.

Ultimately, we do believe that you should give children a choice, and those who are prepared to help them find out what they like and don’t like will go a long way in eating their development. Fake nails are just one way for somebody to experiment with their image, so in that sense, it’s important to let them try.

Final Thoughts

So, it’s pretty safe to say that we support the use of fake nails in schools and with young people, but only under certain conditions. We don’t agree with any situation where fake nails will impact the quality of learning that a person receives or impede their ability to complete work. However, we recognise that young people have an inherent need to experiment and understand who they are, and fake nails can help a lot with that. It’s much more affordable than a full day at the salon, which is why we would recommend it if you have a child who is looking to experiment.
