Fake Nails and Face Coverings - Being Careful and Safe During COVID-19

Today is the 24th of July. For many people, this means that life as we know it is going to change. It is now the law for face coverings to be worn inside shops, public facilities and many other spaces.

Our entire way of life is now going to change to compensate for this new law. If you’re someone with fake nails and a face covering, then you may find that life for you is going to become even more complex than you thought. We thought that we would walk you through how to be safe, sensible and careful with your nails.

Issue Identification and Assessment

It is important to try and identify all of the potential issues prior to sitting down and working out exactly what advice to dispense to people. Obviously, we want you to feel like you can get the best possible options when it comes to your unique experiences, which is why it can be vital for people to try and work out exactly what it is that you can do to make it work in the way it should.

Generally speaking, we see someone accidentally damaging their face covering with their fake nail as being one of the likely outcomes. We all know that fake nails are strong and sometimes quite pointed, depending on the variant. It’s not that big of a stretch to see one winning out when it comes to a battle of strength with a paper face covering, as these are primarily what people use.

Our Advice

Generally speaking, we advise caution where possible. It is important to try and be as sensible as possible during this pandemic - it is, after all, something which has already claimed a large number of lives. Making sure that you stay protected can be difficult, but possible.

One of the most important things that you should try and do is to focus on giving yourself the best fake nails, but not at the expense of the mask. Let’s try and put it into perspective a little here. What you’re going to want to do is to try and not touch the mask with the nail unless you’re applying it or taking it off. Be sensible when it comes to how you use the mask, and you should have far less problems.

In conclusion, we know that it can be a challenge for people to try and think about what kind of experience they want when it comes to their fake nails and face coverings. All we recommend is to never sacrifice your face covering at the expense of your fake nails - it’s just never worth it. Instead, you need to make sure that you are trying to do your level best to be aware of when you touch the mask - watch out for points of contact, places where the mask will transfer bacteria, and situations like that. Please be safe and sensible with your masks - you’ll be glad you did.
