Smart Tech in Fake Nails?

Do you know what would make fake nails better? Laser beams. No, seriously, hear us out. Imagine fake nails that shoot laser beams. While it might seem incredibly far-fetched, and perhaps even a comic book idea, fake nails are actually being used as a hotbed for technology.

We recently saw a news article which suggested that fake nails could be used as a replacement for your oyster card when you go on the London underground, and we found that pretty fascinating. So much so, in fact, that we decided we would talk a little bit about whether or not there is any potential for smart technology to be worked into fake nails.

Smart Tech - It’s Everywhere

The thing about smart technology is that it is pretty much everywhere these days. We used to turn all lights off, turn the kettle on, do a bunch of other things with it, but more recently, smart technology has been getting smaller, much more conceivable, and built into a wide selection of different things. There’s even smart technology in basic rings that you wear on your fingers.

So, it does tend to beg the question as to whether or not smart technology can be effectively used on things like fake nails. We believe it can, and we’re going to talk about why.

Fake Nails - Up to the Task

We happen to believe that fake nails are pretty much perfectly suited for the task of hosting smart tech because they are built to be durable, reliable things.

If you’re going to take something small and delicate, like smart technology, and then put it onto a fake nail, that fake nail has to be able to withstand a lot of punishment to protect the technology. It’s not a particularly difficult concept, you just put the microchip or piece of technology underneath the fake nails, but they have to be reasonably durable and flexible, which we believe most fake nails should be.

Fake nails are an excellent fashion accessory, and we think it would be quite cool if they were also able to interact with the world around them. Just imagine using your fake nails to pay for something, or activate your oyster card, or turn your lights on and off. It’s a very fun premise, and just points to the growing sophistication of technology.

Final Thoughts

So, when it comes to things like fake nails, we do believe that they could eventually be used as the carriers for smart technology. It could be a lot of fun to have fake nails that not only look great, match the situation, and provide you with a nice little detail for your outfit, but also provide a very valuable function in everyday interactions. However, for now, we’re just going to have to settle with fake nails that look great and match your outfit, so if you are looking to get a hold of some, we’ve got a pretty broad selection for you to take a look at.
